THE weekend's tournaments in Newport are not the only make-or-break events taking place in the world of darts - with the Australian Grand Prix coming to an exciting conclusion.
The final AGP tournament of the year takes place on Sunday at Prospect, NSW, with Anthony Fleet and Barry Jouannet battling to head the standings.
Fleet leads Jouannet by four points going into the event, with a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship on offer for the AGP champion.
Jouannet has previously qualified twice for the World Championship, while Fleet has led the AGP throughout this year.
"The standard of play on this year's AGP circuit has been tremendous and it will be an exciting finale," said Dart Players Australia's Kevin Berlyn.
"Anthony has been superb all year and it is great that Barry is back to full health and also back to top form.
"Both players would be a great ambassador in the World Championship and I know it will be an honour for them should they manage to qualify on Sunday."
Should both players finish level on points in the AGP table after Sunday's event, then a play-off between them would be held before the Oceanic Masters next month.
The AGP event will be preceded on Saturday by the Bulleit Bourbon Open, which will also take place at the Prospect Hotel.
