Blue Square UK Open North-East Regional Final

THE road to the Blue Square UK Open Televised Finals continues on Sunday with the North-East Regional Final.

The fourth of the eight Regional Finals takes place at the Gateshead Stadium, where 143 players will be competing for the £6,000 winner's cheque.

James Wade has won two of the opening three events, and he opens his bid for a third title against Kevin Fletcher.

Wade, who was crowned as PDC Player of the Year on Wednesday, could meet another award winner, Newcomer of the Year Mervyn King, in the early stages.

He will open up against Kevin Fletcher on Board 11, while Ladbrokes.com PDC World Championship runner-up Kirk Shepherd takes on Mark Carter in his opening game.

The North-East Regional Final will begin at 11am on Sunday 13 January. Play from the quarter-finals onwards will be screened on www.bluesquare.com and www.bet365.com from approximately 3pm-7pm.
