THE format for the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts Challenge Matches has been amended to the best of 13 legs.
Five Challenge Matches will be played over the final three weeks of the Premier League Darts following the withdrawal of Wayne Mardle through illness.
The first will see world number two James Wade take on Scotland's Robert Thornton at the AECC in Aberdeen on Thursday night.
The games will offer a £1,000 prize to the winner, and will also count towards the bonus payment of £1,000 awarded to the highest checkout at each Premier League night.
To determine who throws first in the opening leg, and subsequent legs, the players will throw nearest the bullseye in the practice room before each match.
