STARS of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship will be hitting the practice board on Christmas Day.
While the action at Alexandra Palace may have stopped for three days over the Christmas break, the remaining 32 players will be preparing for the second round.
Many have travelled home over the Christmas break - Bill Davis having the longest journey, back to Philadelphia - and will enjoy Christmas with their families.
But all admit to having an eye on Saturday's resumption of play at Alexandra Palace.
"Every player will be practising on Christmas Day and I'll be no different," said world number three James Wade.
"I'm practising every day and things get even more intense from now onwards."
Kevin McDine admitted: "I'm cooking Christmas dinner for myself and my partner Sara, but then I'll be hitting the practice board."
Phil Taylor, the 13-time World Champion, added: "My kids are grown up now so there will be less presents around, so my house will be tidier.
"I'll be up early and be on the practice board for 10am with my son Chris, have a break for Christmas dinner and then be back on the board about 5pm."
Wayne Mardle - pictured above with Phil Taylor under the mistletoe - said: "I'll be practising because I want to work up an appetite for my Christmas dinner.
"I don't like turkey but I'll be having beef, pork and lamb at my mum's. I can't wait!"
The PDC wishes players and fans around the world a Merry Christmas and a happy festive season.
The Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship resumes on Saturday December 27 at London's Alexandra Palace.
