THE final two places in the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts will be awarded to players from the PDC Order of Merit.
James Wade's win over Terry Jenkins in the final of the SkyBet World Grand Prix on Sunday meant that no new qualifiers for the Grand Slam of Darts came from the Dublin event.
That leaves the final two places in the 32-man field open, with the spots to be awarded to the highest two non-qualified players in the PDC Order of Merit on Monday 12 November.
That gives players six more PDC Pro Tour events to battle for the places - with Ronnie Baxter and Kevin Painter in pole position.
Mark Dudbridge's run to the quarter-finals of the SkyBet World Grand Prix puts him just over £2,000 behind Painter, while Alan Tabern, Colin Osborne and Denis Ovens could also force their way into contention.
"Places in the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts have been coveted by players around the world and this move will give our stars a final chance to earn a spot at Wolverhampton," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"There will be massive interest in these final six Pro Tour events, beginning this coming weekend in Scotland, and I'm sure everyone will be eagerly watching the results over the coming weeks."
Irvine's Magnum Centre hosts the Scottish Players Championship and Blue Square UK Open Scottish Regional Final this coming weekend.
Players Championships in Germany and Killarney follow before the double-header of events in Lisse, Holland on 10 and 11 November.
The draw for the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts will be made on Monday 22 October in Wolverhampton.
Tickets for the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts are still available from the Midlands Box Office on 0870 320 7000 or via www.wolvescivic.co.uk.
