WARREN FRENCH has won a place in the 2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship following his victory in New Zealand's National Singles Championship.
The Kiwi represented his country two years ago in the World Championship, going down 3-1 to James Wade at the Circus Tavern.
He will now appear in December at Alexandra Palace, after winning the recent New Zealand National Singles Championship for a second time.
Almost 200 players representing 54 clubs from the New Zealand Chartered Clubs Darts Association took part in the tournament.
French had a taste of Alexandra Palace when he accompanied Warren Parry to the 2008 World Championship, and said: "I'm delighted to be coming back.
"Playing in the World Championship was a great honour and a fantastic experience, and I was determined to get back there.
"To play at Alexandra Palace will be great and hopefully I can compete well in December."
The 2009 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship will take place from Dec 19-Jan 4
