DAVE HONEY was delighted to reach the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship when he came through Saturday's PDPA Qualifiers.
Honey, 39, will be playing in the World Championship for the first time later this month, when he takes on Adrian Lewis in the first round.
After only a year playing full-time on the PDC circuit, Honey admits he is delighted with his progress.
"I feel I have come a long way in a very short space of time," he said.
"This is the biggest thing to happen to me in my short time in the game, but it's incredibly exciting.
"It will be the biggest tournament I will have played in so far."
Honey begins his challenge on Monday 19 December, when he faces shooting star Lewis on the opening afternoon of the tournament.
He could face former World Champion Dennis Priestley or Northern Ireland's John Magowan should he progress to round two.
