JELLE KLAASEN believes his Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts experience will make him a more consistent player.
The young Dutchman made his Premier League debut this season as one of the two Wildcard choices, after his success in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
Although he missed out on the play-offs, the quick-fire ace feels his game has improved as a result of three months playing against the likes of Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld every week.
"I'm playing a lot better now," said Klaasen. "In the Pro Tour events I'm a lot more consistent.
"Even though I missed a lot of doubles in the Premier League I've been hitting them better in the other tournaments and I think I'm a better player now.
"I've qualified for the UK Open and now I'm concentrating on qualifying for the World Matchplay. I'll be practising a lot and working hard to do that.
"For me, the Premier League was hard because I always practice a lot and with the travelling I can't practice as much as before.
"Now the Premier League's finished, I can practice every day and I think my darts will be better in the next few months."
Klaasen finished seventh in the final Premier League table, but ended the season on a high with a 7-5 win over Mark Webster in their Challenge Match in Cardiff last week.
"We both missed a few doubles but I think I was the better player and I was pleased with the result," he added.
"I didn't play badly throughout the Premier League but to finish with a win is nice and I'm very happy with that.
"I enjoyed it very much. It's hard with all the travelling but it has been a great experience and hopefully I'll be back next year."
Tickets for the Blue Square UK Open are still available from the Reebok Stadium Box Office on 0844 871 2932, with prices starting at £10.
