DARTS's Jocky Wilson Cup, to be staged at the Braehead Arena on Saturday December 5, has been given the thumbs-up by the legendary two-time World Champion!
The Professional Darts Corporation will stage the Scotland versus England clash in Glasgow this December in the honour of Wilson, who retired from darts in the mid-1990s and now lives in Kirkcaldy.
The event sees top Scottish duo Gary Anderson and Robert Thornton take on the world's top two players, English pair Phil Taylor and James Wade in a series of Singles games plus a Doubles match.
Tickets for the tournament go on general sale on Monday October 5 at 9am, and Wilson has urged Scottish darts fans to show their support for Anderson and Thornton.
"It's going to be a brilliant night of top-quality darts," said 59-year-old Wilson.
"I'm really honoured to have this tournament named after me, especially with such star-studded line-up doing battle from the oche.
"It's going to be a tough match for our Robert and Gary, but I'm sure with the vocal support of a partisan home crowd, they'll be spurred on to victory and the inaugural Jocky Wilson Cup will be staying in Scottish hands!
"I'd urge all the Scottish darts fans to get along to Braehead and cheer on our two lads when they take on the Auld Enemy!"
Tickets for the Jocky Wilson Cup go on sale from the Braehead Arena Box Office on Monday October 5 at 9am, priced at £30 for floor seats and £20 for tiered seats.
