LIONEL SAMS took victory in the non-ranked West Tyrone Open at the weekend, defeating Ray Farrell 8-4 in the final.
Sams was one of the PDC stars to head to the Mahons Hotel in Irvinestown for the tournament.
The initial stages saw 16 six-man groups compete in a round-robin format, with Sams' only defeat coming to Peter Waters.
He then knocked out defending champion Chris Mason 6-3 at the last 32 stage and overcame Justin McGuigan and Felix McBreaty 6-0 and 6-1 on his way to the semi-finals.
Sams ended the hopes of Sean MaGowan - with whom he teamed up to win the Open Doubles event - in the semi-finals with a 7-3 win before overcoming Farrell to take the £1,600 first prize.
Brendan Dolan, who reached the Open Doubles final with Glen Lagan, won the Kevin McGrath Irish Open Memorial, staged on Friday for home players, winning 5-3 against Andrew Coulter in the final.
