THE PDC and PDPA would like to pass their condolences to the family of long-time friend Mandy Topping, who passed away on Friday.
Mandy was an ever-present at PDC tournaments along with husband John, and had become close friends with many players and officials in recent years.
She passed away on Friday 1 February following her battle with cancer.
Funeral Details
Mandy's funeral will take place at St John's Church in Blackpool town centre on Monday 11 February.
Everyone is welcome, and Mandy asked for donations to be made to the Breast Care Endowment Fund at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.
PDC Tournament Director Tommy Cox paid the following tribute:
Mandy Topping was certainly the most positive lady I ever met.
She loved life and her untimely death is one of those rare occurrences that make you sometimes question your faith.
Mandy had faith aplenty though and anyone who knew her would undoubtedly agree that she touched their lives in a unique and inspiring way.
I was in a party of 12 who were with her when she found the first symptoms that her illness had returned.
We were at a Butlins music festival in December 2006 when she found the telltale signs but in typical Mandy fashion she just got on with enjoying the weekend.
She vowed to enjoy what time she had left and she did so, even returning to Butlins last December.
Our thoughts are with her family and especially with husband John, who is very much like Mandy in his outlook on life and counts himself the luckiest man in the world to have shared the last ten or so years with his soul mate.
Knowing her as I did, I know that Mandy would have wanted a party not a wake so when you think of her don't be sad, raise a glass to the memory of a very special lady.
I'm sure the party's already started upstairs.
Proud that she called me friend,
Tommy Cox
Chris Mason said: "Mandy was so brave, she battled this terrible disease for over four years.
"I managed to go and see Mandy just last week whilst spending her last few days in hospital and she was brave to the last.
"Mandy will be sorely missed by everybody associated with the PDC, with her humour and bubbly nature it was a pleasure to be in her company."
PDPA Director Chris Sargeant added: "Mandy was the life and soul of any party and the best friend anyone could ask for.
"Her door was always open and she was always there for anyone who needed help or cheering up.
"Our thoughts are with John and the family in these saddest of times.
"Mandy you will be missed but never forgotten."
