KEVIN McDINE'S bid to break into the world's top 32 will see him travel to Canada and America to compete in Players Championship events over the next fortnight.
The 23-year-old has moved up to 38th in the PDC Order of Merit inside 18 months as a full-time professional, and recently reached the quarter-finals of the Stan James World Matchplay on his Blackpool debut.
He has now set his sights on breaking into the world's top 32 to ensure a place in his first Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship - and also knows that a successful fortnight in north America could see him earn places in the Sky Poker World Grand Prix and European Championship.
"The top 32 is definitely the place to be and hopefully I can keep pushing to get in there," said McDine, who will follow up his appearance in Sunday's Kitchener Open Players Championship by heading to Atlanta for the Peachtree Open.
"I'm delighted with my progress in the last 18 months, but I need to get into the top 32 now and establish myself there.
"Playing in Blackpool in the World Matchplay was a great experience, like the Grand Slam of Darts last year, and I want more of that now.
"Robert Thornton's win in Australia last week showed how important every Players Championship event is, and I know that the next two events are very important for me.
"My last two trips to America, for the US Open and Las Vegas Desert Classic, haven't been very successful but hopefully I can change that this time!"
