COLIN McGARRY has been confirmed as the 30th player in the PartyPoker.com Grand Slam of Darts following the conclusion of Championship League Darts.
With Phil Taylor and Mervyn King reaching the final of the internet-streamed event on Thursday - both having already booked Grand Slam of Darts spots - McGarry takes one of the reserve places.
The 43-year-old from Larne was runner-up in the ITV Wildcard Qualifier last Friday in Scotland, with Alan Tabern and Jamie Caven now sweating on the results of the European Championship if they are to be invited to compete live on ITV in Wolverhampton.
Tabern could yet win a place anyway, should he reach the final of the European Championship in Frankfurt, live on ITV4 next weekend, while Caven has a final chance to win a place in that event this coming weekend.
McGarry will be returning to the televised arena for the first time since he reached the third round at the 2004 World Championship, defeating Rory Orvis and Mark Holden before losing to Phil Taylor at the Circus Tavern.
