THE Professional Darts Corporation sends its condolences to the family of American darts promoter Jim Boan, who passed away last Wednesday.
He died suddenly from a heart attack at his home in Georgia.
Boan was the president of Atlanta Darts, whose Peachtree Open has been ranked on the PDC Pro Tour for the past two years.
He also held the Atlanta qualifier for the 2006 World Series of Darts, which was won by Roger Carter
Jay Tomlinson, the PDC's North American Co-Ordinator and publisher of Bulls-Eye News magazine, said: "He will be sadly missed.
"Jim and I were very close friends and worked together at and on many tournaments."
Boan's death comes following the loss of another US darts official earlier in 2008, the Minute Man Dart League President Tom Sammarco.
