THE PDC have expressed their condolences to the family of PDPA member Fred Boddey, who died in a motorcycle accident on Monday.
Boddey, 57, joined the PDPA in March 2007, competing in the Players Championship in Germany as well as the UK Open Midlands Regional Final.
The Derby-based player also travelled to Las Vegas in June, facing Colin Lloyd in the Players Championship and also attempting to qualify for the Desert Classic.
His final event was at the Bobby Bourn Memorial Players Championship, where he lost to John Part.
"We were shocked and saddened to hear this news and send our deepest condolences to Fred's family," said PDC Chief Executive Tim Darby.
"Although Fred was a new player on our circuit, I'm sure his loss will be felt by his friends and fellow players throughout the darting world at this time."
PDPA Chairman Peter Manley added: "It is very sad news and we send our condolences to Fred's family. This has come as a big shock to us all."
