BIG-TIME darts will return to the Circus Tavern in January 2009 for the inaugural Players Championship Finals.
The Players Championship Finals will see the top 32 players from the Players Championship tournaments held throughout 2008 face off in front of the television cameras for £200,000, with £50,000 to the winner.
The tournament will be held from Friday January 30 to Sunday February 1, staged at the famous Circus Tavern in Essex.
The PDC's World Championship was held at the venue from 1994 until last year, when the tournament moved to London's Alexandra Palace.
"It was with a heavy heart that we left the Circus Tavern after the 2007 World Championship but we're delighted to be returning," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
"Purfleet has a special place in the hearts of many players, who I'm sure will be looking forward to returning to the famous stage next January."
The top 32 will play in the first round on Friday afternoon and evening and the second round on Saturday afternoon and evening, with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final being completed in two sessions on Sunday.
Ticket prices and booking details will be confirmed in due course.
