FOUR of the PDC's biggest names will travel to Australia next month to take part in the country's richest ever darts event, the William Cross Pro-Am.
The tournament, sponsored by Park Trent Properties and named in honour of the late former player and official from New South Wales, will be held at Dapto Leagues Club in New South Wales, and is offering a $41,000 prize fund.
The event is open to all players, and PDC stars Bob Anderson, Keith Deller, Richie Burnett and Jamie Harvey will all travel to Wollongong to compete in the latter stages.
There will be four days of qualifiers from 7-10 September, with either players from each day earning a place in the main tournament on Sunday afternoon.
The last four will then take on the four PDC stars for the $15,000 first prize.
The event also carries ranking points for the Australian Grand Prix, and is the penultimate event on that circuit for 2006.
The leading player after the Bulleit Bourbon Open, at Prospect West on 23 & 24 September, will win a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, with Anthony Fleet currently edging out Barry Jouannet at the top of the standings.
