Quartet Given World Darts Trophy Places

FIVE players from the Professional Darts Corporation have been invited into the Bavaria World Darts Trophy in September - with one place still up for grabs.

Leading players Colin Lloyd, Phil Taylor and Ronnie Baxter have been invited due to their status in the top three of the PDC rankings.

Dutchman Raymond van Barneveld (pictured) - who won last month's Topic International Darts League - has also been invited.

A fifth invitation will be offered to the player who is in fourth place in the PDC world rankings after the Las Vegas Desert Classic V, which takes place later in June.

Peter Manley currently occupies fourth place - but with the Budweiser UK Open, two PDPA Players Championship events and the Desert Classic looming a number of other players will be targeting the place.

Wayne Mardle and Kevin Painter are hot on Manley's heels, while Andy Jenkins, Roland Scholten and Mark Dudbridge could also move up the standings with good displays over the next month.

The draw for the Bavaria World Darts Trophy will be made in mid-July, with the tournament itself taking place from 2-10 September in Utrecht.

The full line-up for the Bavaria World Darts Trophy is as follows:
Gary Anderson, Martin Adams, Mervyn King, Tony Eccles, Martin Atkins, Michael van Gerwen, Niels De Ruiter, John Walton, Shaun Greatbatch, Simon Whitlock, Vincent van der Voort, Paul Hanvidge, Brian Sorensen, Ted Hankey, Paul Hogan, Mike Veitch, Gary Robson, Co Stompe, Tony O'Shea, Goran Klemme, Albertino Essers, Tony Martin, Jelle Klaasen, Darryl Fitton, Mareno Michels, Dick van Dijk, Dirk Hespeels, Colin Lloyd, Phil Taylor, Ronnie Baxter, Raymond van Barneveld, plus fourth placed player in PDC rankings after Las Vegas Desert Classic.
