QUEENSLAND defeated the PDC team 6-4 to win the final of the Linddale Super Fours in Sydney.
The PDC team had come through the seven-game group phase unbeaten in the event and was a 6-3 winner against New South Wales in the semi-finals.
However, Queensland followed up a third placed finish in the league stage with a convincing 6-1 win over New Zealand in the last four.
That was sealed thanks to a win for Simon Whitlock over Phillip Hazel, the Kiwi national champion and Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship qualifier, with Steve MacArthur and Shane Tichowitsch also in good form.
The Queensland side, which also featured Rob Modra, then defeated the PDC representatives of Terry Jenkins, Denis Ovens, Mark Webster and Robert Thornton in the final.
Thornton and Webster won the opening pairs game against Whitlock and Modra, before MacArthur and Tichowitsch edged out Jenkins and Ovens.
Jenkins and Webster took victories in singles games against Whitlock and MacArthur, but wins for Modra, Tichowitsch, Whitlock and Modra put the Queenslanders 5-3 up in the race to six.
Thornton's win over MacArthur kept PDC hopes alive, but Tichowitsch was a 3-0 winner against Jenkins to seal victory.
The Linddales Super Fours event featured eight four-player teams and was held at the Coogee Bay Hotel ahead of Sunday's Australian Open Players Championship.
