TRINIDAD'S Vivekanand Dyal will compete in the 2007 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship Qualifiers after winning the Carib Beer Caribbean & South American Masters.
The Trinidad and Tobago captain defeated defending champion Winston Cadogan and 2004 winner Anthony Forde on his way to winning the event.
Dyal, nicknamed "Rabbit", dropped just one leg in his semi-final against Cadogan, who faced Erik Clarys in the first round of last year's World Championship at Purfleet.
Dyal took the first set without reply and the second 3-1 to move into the final, where he faced 2004 winner Anthony Forde.
Forde overcame Guyana's Norman Madhoo - who played in the 2004 World Championship - in the semi-finals in the deciding leg of the third set.
He opened the final with a maximum, but saw Dyal take the opening set 3-2.
Dyal moved 2-0 up in the second set to go to within a leg of the match, but Forde took the next two and sent the set into a decider.
Dyal, though, opened the fifth leg with a maximum and took the leg in 15 darts to take the title.
He will join PDPA members in the World Championship Qualifiers at Villa Park, Birmingham on Saturday 2 December in the hope of winning one of 16 places at the Circus Tavern.
The Caribbean & South American Masters took place in July alongside the Caribbean Cup and Americas Cup in Barbados.
Cadogan was runner-up in the Americas Cup Men's Singles to USA star Scott Wollaston, defeating John Kuczynski in the semi-finals.
The USA also took the Team title and the Women's Singles through the victory of Stacy Bromberg.
The Bahamas won the Caribbean Cup, with Madhoo taking the Men's Singles title.
