THE PDC has received record media coverage over the past fortnight following the success of its Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

The New Year's Day showdown between Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor, with the Dutchman winning in a final leg to take the £100,000 first prize at the Circus Tavern, saw huge televised audiences and acclaim for what many pundits are describing as darts' "greatest match".
