On Last Week in Birmingham
The game of the night last week was James Wade and John Part playing out a 7-7 draw with really strong performances from both of them.
Neither had a chance to break the others' throw and they fired five 180s apiece, and when we talk about holding your throw being important this was a perfect example.
If you want to win tournaments and get into the top four of the Premier League you've got to hold your own throw and Part is great at that, even when he is not at his best.
The big game of the evening last week was the battle of the big guns - Phil Taylor and Raymond van Barneveld.
We thought this was going to be a close game but I spoke to The Power before the match, he was right up for it and ran away with the match.
Barney missed a few chances in the early legs and you cannot do that against Taylor, who is in blinding form at the moment.
Phil is now top of the league with James Wade behind him and that's where Taylor will stay - there's a bit of movement in third and fourth spot but van Barneveld finds himself in fifth and he really needs to win in Glasgow otherwise he might not get to Wembley.
This Week's Games
Raymond van Barneveld v John Part
They played each other in Edinburgh and drew seven-all in a strong game, with both players holding their throw and the same thing could happen as we return to Scotland.
Both players are playing well but I have to pick Barney to nick this - but a draw wouldn't surprise me, and I think the over 120.5 checkout at 9/10 will go.
Boylesports.com Match Odds
Raymond van Barneveld 2/5, John Part 19/5, Draw 5/1
Terry Jenkins v Wayne Mardle
Jenkins' form has been up and down - one week he hits his doubles, the next he doesn't.
I think he will beat Wayne Mardle this week but if Wayne can get his new throw going in the early legs and take his chances then he will get a result.
At the moment he is not doing that so I see this as a Jenkins win, possibly 8-4 or 8-5.
Boylesports.com Match Odds
Terry Jenkins 4/7, Wayne Mardle 11/4, Draw 9/2
Jelle Klaasen v Phil Taylor
What a task Jelle has! Klaasen has the game to beat Phil and anybody else but he is just not consistent enough.
Because he throws so quickly he misses too many shots with the occasional dart going into the five rather than the 20 and you cannot do that against Phil Taylor.
The Power could easily run away with this one as he did against Barney, Klaasen has to take his chances in the early legs or Taylor will be a big winner here.
Boylesports.com Match Odds
Jelle Klaasen 14/1, Phil Taylor 1/9, Draw 15/2
Mervyn King v James Wade
This one on paper could easily end up level but I'm going to go for Wade to nick this one.
I think James is going to be really fired up against Mervyn, who has been jumping on mistakes but I don't think that James is going to make any.
Mervyn is a great scorer and has been taking out shots but I think he will be edged out this week.
Boylesports.com Match Odds
Mervyn King 8/5, James Wade Evens, Draw 4/1
