Rose & Layden Seal Rileys Spots

STEVEN ROSE and Darren Layden are the latest Rileys Amateur Qualifiers for the Coral UK Open following the penultimate weekend of knockouts.

Maidenhead-based warehouse assistant Rose, 45, won through Saturday's knockout at South Benfleet to seal his spot at the Butlins Minehead Resort in next month's Televised Finals.

Rose has previously hit a nine-dart finish whilst competing for Berkshire County, and is a two-time World Masters qualifier.

Heating engineer Layden, a 44-year-old from Carlton in Lindrick, Nottinghamshire, won through the knockout at the Rileys Sheffield Sports Bar as he sealed his UK Open debut.

Layden competed in the 2015 PDC Qualifying School and played twice on the PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour last year, and reached the last 16 at the Jersey Classic in November.

The Rileys Amateur Qualifiers conclude this coming weekend with the remaining 11 knockouts being held from February 19-21.

Entry costs £6 per Qualifier - including a free drink voucher, or a £3 cashback voucher in Scotland - and players are permitted to compete in more than one of the knockouts.

Entries are being taken via www.rileys.co.uk/tournaments.

Full Terms & Conditions and Tournament Rules are also available at the Rileys website.
