Ryder & Kokiri Claim DPA Wins

LOZ RYDER and Koha Kokiri have won places in the William Hill World Darts Championship following the conclusion of the DPA's Australian Grand Prix season and the 2015 DPA Oceanic Masters.

Perth-based Ryder will compete for a second successive year at Alexandra Palace after he finished at the top of the DPA AGP Order of Merit.

Ryder's runs to two semi-finals and a quarter-final in the weekend's final three AGP events secured his spot at the top of the standings, 24 points ahead of John Weber despite the left-handers victory on Saturday.

Bill Aitken and New Zealand's Cody Harris took victory in the Thursday and Friday tournaments to end the season on a high.

Sunday saw the prestigious DPA Oceanic Masters complete the year's DPA tournaments, as New Zealand-born Kokiri took the title to secure a debut in the World Championship.

Kokiri, who now lives in Perth, defeated Tyson Hoefel, Kerry Whear and Adam Rowe before edging past left-hander Shane Tichowitsch 7-5 in the semi-finals.

He then overcame fellow New Zealander Warren Parry - a three time Oceanic Masters winner - 8-4 in the final to seal his Alexandra Palace place.

Parry had knocked out former Lakeside Champion Tony David and DPA number three David Platt in the latter stages.

Ryder will enter the William Hill World Darts Championship in the first round, with Kokiri set to enter at the preliminary round stage should Nathan Aspinall win the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship. Should Max Hopp win the World Youth Championship, Kokiri would enter in the first round at Alexandra Palace.
