Stars Warm Up At 'Pacmania II'

SEVERAL American and Canadian players warmed up for the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic by competing in the Pacmania II event in California last week.

Top boxer Manny Pacquiao promoted his second "Pacmania" tournament in Burbank, offering $100,000 in prize money across a string of tournaments.

Played over four days, the 14 events gave a chance for top north American players to warm up for the Las Vegas Desert Classic, which begins on Sunday.

Bill Davis, who has already qualified for the televised stages of the Desert Classic, picked up victory in two of the events, the Mens Singles Chicago event and the Open Doubles Event.

The second victory was alongside Jim Newman, one of over 190 players who will be competing at the Mandalay Bay Resort in two days of Desert Classic qualifying on Sunday.

Larry Butler picked up victory in the Blind Draw Cricket and Darin Young was a winner in the Blind Draw Chicago event

Ray Carver and Robert Heckman were two-thirds of the Mixed Triples winners, alongside Andrea Taylor, while Stacy Bromberg won Ladies Singles, defeating Tiffany Van Kirk in the final.

Dan Olson defeated Steve Brown in the final of the Mens Singles, with Paul Lim and Shawn Brenneman reaching the semi-finals.
