THE Australian Open Players Championship will be preceded by the Linddales Super Fours.
The Linddales Super Fours will feature eight four-man teams competing at the Coogee Bay Hotel from Thursday-Saturday.
Terry Jenkins, Denis Ovens, Robert Thornton (pictured) and Mark Webster will form a PDC Invitational Team for the event.
Current DartPlayers Australia number one Simon Whitlock will spearhead the four-man Queensland side, which also features former World Championship qualifier Steve Macarthur.
Paul Nicholson, last year's Australian number one and a Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship quarter-finalist, is in the Victoria side.
New Zealand will be represented by two former World Championship qualifiers, Warren French and Warren Parry, as well as Phillip Hazel - this year's national champion and a recent Las Vegas Desert Classic qualifier who will appear at Alexandra Palace in December.
Russell Stewart, who was injured in a car accident returning from a tournament recently, has been replaced in the ACT team by Don Whittington.
The format will be best of 11 games per match, consisting of 2x Doubles games, 8x Singles games and a Team game if tied at five-all.
At the end of the round robin phase, the top four teams will progress to the play-offs, which will see two semi-finals (1v4 and 2v3) followed by the final on Saturday.
