THE battle for places in the PDC's top 32 takes critical importance this weekend, with two tournaments being staged at the Vauxhall Holiday Camp in Great Yarmouth.
The JR & Vauxhall 128 Classic and the JR & Vauxhall Open are staged on the penultimate weekend of ranking tournaments ahead of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
With only the Primus Masters in Belgium next weekend to be played after this weekend, any points gained will be crucial to the hopes of a number of players.
Andy Smith and Keith Deller both harbour hopes of breaking into the top 32, and would need to produce big displays to overhaul Darren Webster, Colin Monk or Matt Clark.
Within the top 32, a number of players are also jostling for positions, with Mark Dudbridge moving into the top ten for the first time this week ahead of John Part.
Dave Askew is currently holding 16th place, narrowly ahead of Lionel Sams, Steve Beaton and Bob Anderson - who has reached the semi-finals at the last two World Championships.
Adrian Lewis' recent form has seen him jump into 20th place, while Colin Lloyd is now assured of entering the World Championship as number one seed ahead of Phil Taylor.
The JR & Vauxhall 128 Classic takes place on Friday, with the JR & Vauxhall Open beginning on Saturday and being played to a finish on Sunday night.
