JAMES WADE admits he needs to improve his game if he is to defeat Terry Jenkins in the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts on Thursday.
Wade claimed a third straight win in Newcastle last week, defeating Jelle Klaasen 8-6 to move second in the table.
However, he averaged just 91 against the Dutchman, having produced averages of 107 and 105 in wins against Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor.
"I didn't play as well as I can but I got the result and that's good enough for me," said Wade.
"I hit some big finishes at the right time and I always do that when I'm not playing well. I've got to start showing a bit of confidence now.
"Terry's a grinder and it will be a good game against him on Thursday. We've had some great battles before and he can do anything when he plays you.
"He'll probably go up there and average 100 against me but I'm confident I will average 100 against him. The best man will win!"
Wade conceded he was not properly prepared for the Klaasen game - but will not make the same mistake twice.
"I know what I can do and have to do get the results," he said. "My preparation wasn't as good as it should have been against Jelle.
"I've been back on the practice board and don't want to make the same mistake again.
"I prepared perfectly against Phil and Raymond but I thought I had it easy against Jelle and I didn't do what I should have done."
