THE draws for the two Players Championship tournaments to be held in Newport on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September.
The two £20,000 tournaments are the final two which will count towards qualification for the Sky Poker World Grand Prix.
The top 16 in the PDC Order of Merit following the weekend's events will be joined by the top 12 non-qualified players from the Players Championship Order of Merit and the leading four players from Ireland and Northern Ireland from the Players Championship Order of Merit in qualifying for the World Grand Prix.
Mervyn King, Denis Ovens and Mark Dudbridge could even break into the top 16 with good weekends, although they sit inside the 12 Players Championship qualifying places.
Steve Beaton is just £125 behind Andy Smith, who occupies the 12th qualifying place at present, while Matt Clark, Michael van Gerwen, Lionel Sams and Steve Maish are also within £1,000 of Smith.
