THREE Players Championship tournaments remain for players to win a place in the Stan James World Matchplay.
The cut-off for the 2008 Stan James World Matchplay will be after the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic on Sunday 6 July, with the top 16 players in the PDC Order of Merit qualifying automatically.
They will be joined at the Winter Gardens by the top 16 non-qualified players from the Players Championship Order of Merit, which recognises all Players Championship events held so far in 2008.
The double-header of Players Championship events in Bristol this weekend will be followed by the Las Vegas Players Championship on Sunday 29 July, giving three final chances for players to move up the standings.
Denis Ovens, Mark Dudbridge, Chris Mason and Andy Jenkins will all be looking to challenge to break into the top 16 - with Ronnie Baxter, Kevin Painter, Alan Tabern and Colin Osborne currently occupying the final four automatic spots which could potentiall be threatened.
The current top 16 in the PDC Order of Merit are:
Phil Taylor, Raymond van Barneveld, James Wade, John Part, Terry Jenkins, Andy Hamilton, Adrian Lewis, Colin Lloyd, Roland Scholten, Wayne Mardle, Peter Manley, Dennis Priestley, Ronnie Baxter, Kevin Painter, Alan Tabern and Colin Osborne.
The 16 players whose performances in the Players Championship Order of Merit would currently earn them a qualifying place are:
