A total of 20 players will be making their William Hill World Darts Championship debuts in the 2020/21 event alongside two veteran stars extending their own longevity records.
The field of 96 players in this year's tournament will include Steve Beaton as the 1996 Lakeside Champion competes in a record 30th successive World Championship.
Beaton will surpass Phil Taylor's record of 29 World Championships which the 16-time winner appeared in from 1990-2018, with the Norfolk-based ace having initially stepped onto the big stage in 1992.
Paul Lim, meanwhile, will be playing in his 25th World Championship in a remarkable 38-year period, having made his debut in 1982 and hit his historic nine-darter in the 1990 event.
This will be Lim's 13th appearance in the PDC event and a fourth successive qualification for the 66-year-old, who has enjoyed a new lease of life since the introduction of the PDC Asian Tour in recent years.
Young American Danny Lauby becomes the second son to follow their father in competing in the event, with Dan Lauby having competed in four World Championships between 1998/99 and 2003/04.
Colin and Arron Monk are the previous father-son pairing to have competed in the event.
Deta Hedman, meanwhile, completes the first brother-sister pairing to have played in the event, with Al Hedman having played in the 2002/03 tournament, and she will also be the second-oldest debutant at 61 years old.
China's Chengan Liu bridges a 15-year gap since he previously played in the 2005/06 event, while 2012 finalist Andy Hamilton is competing for the first time in five years.
The 20 debutants are headlined by two-time Lakeside Champion Waites, the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts champion who joined the PDC circuit last January.
Other debutants include Dutch quartet Niels Zonneveld, Martijn Kleermaker, Maik Kuivenhoven and Derk Telnekes, the Japanese duo of Toru Suzuki and Edward Foulkes, Chinese qualifier Di Zhuang and New Zealand's Haupai Puha.
Cameron Carolissen's qualification means that South Africa have two representatives for the first time, while Indian number one Amit Gilitwala has previous big-stage experience at the World Cup.
