"Massive Week" Ahead For Lewis

ADRIAN LEWIS is warming up for a "massive week" in his Betway Premier League season, as he prepares to double up at the Barclaycard Arena in Birmingham on Thursday.

Lewis takes on high-flying Dave Chisnall and reigning Betway Premier League champion Raymond van Barneveld on Thursday night, and knows that he could move into the Play-Off places with two wins.

Lewis and van Barneveld, who are both unbeaten in their last four matches, sit a point behind Phil Taylor - who currently occupies fourth place - but both have a game in hand as they double up in Birmingham.

Two-time World Champion Lewis is bidding to reach the Premier League's Play-Offs for the first time since 2011 over the coming weeks, and admits that he is treating every game like a knockout match in his bid to secure a top-four finish.

"With the Premier League I've always found it tough," admits Lewis, who has only reached the Play-Offs twice in seven seasons.

"I'm up there and I think 'If I lose tonight, I can put it right next week' - it's not a straight knockout and I don't feel the pressure as much as I would do during major [knockout] tournaments.

"Every game now is going to be a massive match, a final. I've got Chizzy and Barney and it's a massive week for me but I'm really looking forward to it.

"I haven't lost now in the last four weeks and I'm trying to build on the performances I've had in previous weeks and get the job done."
