An all-Welsh BoyleSports World Grand Prix final between Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton is already in the minds of punters going into Thursday's quarter-finals.
The World Cup of Darts-winning teammates are on opposite sides of the draw and are both odds-on to book semi-final spots, while Price is now a short 5/4 shot to defend his title ahead of his quarter-final match against Dave Chisnall.
Clayton, who denied Jose de Sousa in the Premier League final in May, was gambled down to 10/3 second favourite from 7/1 after asserting his authority over Portuguese star with a 3-1 victory on Wednesday.
That now means a final showdown between the leading Welsh pair is now rated the most likely decider according to the betting at 2/1.
Danny Noppert's 3-0 whitewash of Vincent van der Voort saw him backed into 12/1 from 22/1 to land his first televised PDC title this weekend, while Krzysztof Ratajski is now 8/1 third favourite from 14/1 after dashing the hopes of former World Champion Rob Cross.
Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: "Gerwyn Price has been dominating the betting since the off, but Jonny Clayton has all the momentum in the bottom half of the draw.
"At 10/3 from 7/1, punters think Jonny could be the one to scupper Price's title defence.
"There is definitely a growing belief that the fellow countrymen are on a collision course and we have to make that the most likely final pairing at this stage at 2/1."
