BoyleSports betting update: Punters hot on The Iceman

Gerwyn Price (Lawrence Lustig, PDC)

There is an odds-on favourite for the first time in the betting for the 2021 BoyleSports World Grand Prix going into Friday's semi-finals in Leicester.

Reigning champion Gerwyn Price was backed further following his quarter-final victory over Dave Chisnall on Thursday evening as he saw off the misfiring two-time finalist without losing a set.

Stephen Bunting now stands in the way of Price's second successive final appearance in the tournament, after the St Helens man came from a set down to defeat Ryan Searle on Thursday.

However, Price is an odds-on shot at 2/9 to progress and has also gone odds-on at 4/5 from 6/5 with BoyleSports to defend his title.

Danny Noppert and Jonny Clayton ended the respective challenges of Ian White and Krzysztof Ratajski in the other half of the draw and the Premier League champion is favourite to tee up a potential all-Welsh final at 2/5 to Noppert's 2/1.

Clayton is also rated the biggest danger to his compatriot as the 9/4 second favourite, while Bunting is the outsider of the remaining quartet at 9/1.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: "It's a stellar semi-final line-up and it's hard to begrudge any of them a final berth given their form, but the odds are still pointing to an all-Welsh affair in Saturday's showdown.

"An in-form Stephen Bunting will be no pushover for Gerwyn Price, but he's been so well supported again that we have to make him odds-on now at 4/5 from 6/5 to go all the way."
