Every Game's A Final - Barney

RAYMOND VAN BARNEVELD admits that every game will be like "a final" as he continues his bid to retain the Betway Premier League title next month.

The Dutchman had been one of the stars battling against elimination on Judgement Night earlier this month - but a draw with Gary Anderson saved his status before he picked up wins over Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen.

Van Barneveld is now just two points behind fourth-placed Taylor but has a game in hand going into the final four weeks of the campaign as the battle for Play-Off places intensifies with a clash against Dave Chisnall on Thursday.

"Every week's like a final and I have to keep having good results if I'm going to make the top four," said van Barneveld, who celebrated his 48th birthday on Monday.

"There's nothing wrong with my game, the belief is coming back and I'm battling every single week.

"I've picked up seven points in the last five weeks when I've been playing against Phil, Michael and Gary, so there's no reason why I can't get a result against Dave."

Van Barneveld's opponent at the Motorpoint Arena is second-placed Chisnall, who has picked up eight victories from 12 games so far this season.

"Dave's having an amazing Premier League so far and he's fantastic," added van Barneveld.

"He's had some great performances so far, but he's beatable - Phil beat him last week - and I've got to put him under pressure, and I'm really looking forward to it."
