Three More Prize Funds Increased!

THE PDC have confirmed prize fund increases for the Coral UK Open Televised Finals, European Championship and The Unibet Masters.

The announcement continues the PDC's commitment to increasing prize money on the professional circuit to record levels.

Last year saw prize money for the BetVictor World Matchplay, partypoker.com World Grand Prix and William Hill World Darts Championship increased, while the Betway Premier League prize fund has been increased to £700,000 in 2015.

In addition, a further £235,000 has been added to prize funds for Players Championship and European Tour events during 2015 - taking the total available on the PDC ProTour to over £2.5 million - while prize money for PDC Unicorn Development Tour events for players aged 16-23 has doubled to £10,000 per tournament.

The PDC have now confirmed prize fund increases for three major televised tournaments which will be held during 2015, beginning with the forthcoming Unibet Masters in Milton Keynes on January 31 & February 1.

Prize money has been increased by £40,000 to a total of £200,000 for the event, which features the world's top 16 players.

Prize money for the Coral UK Open Televised Finals, to be held at the Butlins Minehead Resort from March 6-8, has increased by £50,000 to a total of £300,000, with an increased £300,000 prize fund also on offer in October's European Championship.

"This prize money increase for three of our biggest tournaments reiterates our commitment to raising prize funds across the PDC circuit," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.

"The PDC has never been in a stronger position as we push prize money on offer at all levels beyond £8 million - not only in major televised events but also on our ProTour and Development Tour this year.

"Both the Coral UK Open and European Championship have grown in stature annually since being introduced to the PDC circuit, while The Unibet Masters will be bigger than ever in front of sell-out crowds at a new venue in Milton Keynes this year."
