Fallon Sherrock, Mikuru Suzuki and Norman Madhoo joined the list of International Qualifiers for the 2023/24 Paddy Power World Darts Championship at the weekend.
Sherrock and Suzuki sealed their qualification via the PDC Women’s Series, finishing second and third respectively on the Order of Merit following the conclusion of the 2023 season on Sunday.
Women’s World Matchplay winner Beau Greaves – who topped the Order of Merit – has chosen not to compete at Alexandra Palace, therefore her place has been allocated to the Tour Card Holder Qualifier.
However, Sherrock and Suzuki will return to the sport’s flagship event in December, with Sherrock winning four consecutive titles in Events 20-23 to leapfrog the Japanese trailblazer into second spot.
The Milton Keynes superstar made history at this event in 2019/2020, defeating Ted Evetts and Mensur Suljovic to become the first woman to win a match at the World Darts Championship.
Sherrock will now make her fourth appearance in the capital, completing a memorable year which has seen her hit a nine-darter on the Winmau Challenge Tour and be awarded an MBE.
Suzuki previously competed at Alexandra Palace in 2019/20 - losing out 3-2 to James Richardson – and she will make her return after scooping a hat-trick of titles in a prolific 2023 campaign.
Meanwhile, Guyana’s Madhoo sealed his qualification via the inaugural Championship Darts Latin America and Caribbean Tour, after finishing top of the CDLC Order of Merit.
Madhoo, who competed at the World Darts Championship in 2004, 2010 and 2011, won two of the year’s four events to finish above his World Cup of Darts partner Sudesh Fitzgerald.
Four more International Qualifiers for the 2023/24 World Darts Championship will be confirmed in October, as further events take place around the globe.
The winner of next weekend’s DPA Oceanic Masters will also feature in the 96-player field, along with the winner of the Indian Qualifier on October 29.
The Winmau Challenge Tour season then concludes on Monday October 30, and the top two players from the final Challenge Tour Order of Merit will also seal spots in the £2.5 million event.
