Kist Amongst Dutch Masters Qualifiers

CHRISTIAN KIST, Vincent van der Voort and Jelle Klaasen qualified for the Dutch Darts Masters on Tuesday night, as Kevin Voornhout denied Raymond van Barneveld a place in the European Tour event in Veldhoven.

The Host Nation Qualifier for the second European Tour event of 2014 was held on Tuesday at the NH Hotel in Veldhoven, ahead of the weekend's Dutch Darts Masters at the same venue.

PDC newcomer Kist, the former Lakeside Champion who won a PDC Tour Card at Qualifying School last month, earned his European Tour debut with victories against Richard van Zijtveld, Jerry Hendriks and Leon de Geus.

Quick-throwing van der Voort will also compete in Veldhoven this weekend, as he takes on Michael Barnard in the first round following his victories in the qualifier against Jermaine Heijmans, Hendrie van Berkel and Gino Vos.

In-form Klaasen, another former Lakeside Champion and a semi-finalist in the German Darts Championship a fortnight ago, secured his spot in another European Tour event with wins over Kevin Mast, Danny Bosch and Sven van Dun, meaning that he now plays Terry Jenkins in Friday's first round.

There was disappointment, though, for five-time World Champion van Barneveld, who lost out 6-5 to another new face, Voornhout, in their decisive match, with the Betway Premier League Darts star having earlier defeated young duo Dirk van Duijvenbode and Benito van de Pas.

Voornhout - an 18-year-old from Groningen who competed on the PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour last year - also defeated Leo Hendriks and Jeffrey Sparidaans on the night, and like Kist will play one of the European Qualifiers in Friday's first round.

The European Qualifier, which will determine the remaining eight places in the Dutch Darts Masters, will be held on Thursday, with the main event beginning on Friday with the first round being held in one session from 3pm local time (2pm GMT).

All games in the main Dutch Darts Masters event will be streamed LIVE & FREE exclusively through the OfficialPDC YouTube Channel, www.youtube.com/OfficialPDC.

Following Friday's first round, the 16 seeded players enter the fray in the second round on Saturday February 15, with play being held across two sessions at 1pm & 7pm local time (12pm & 6pm GMT).

Sunday sees the third round held in the afternoon session (1pm local time, 12pm GMT), with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final being held in the evening session (7pm local time, 6pm GMT).
