Dave Chisnall has reclaimed a place in the world’s top seven following his NEO.bet European Darts Open triumph on Sunday.
Chisnall defeated Luke Woodhouse, Kevin Doets, Ryan Searle, Damon Heta and Ross Smith on a memorable weekend in Leverkusen, as he lifted his seventh European Tour title at the Ostermann-Arena.
The 43-year-old – also a winner at Players Championship 6 back in March – now climbs up to seventh on the PDC Order of Merit, at the expense of UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh.
Elsewhere, Ross Smith has moved up to a career-high of world number 13 after advancing to his second European Tour final in the space of five events.
Smith – a runner-up in April’s European Darts Grand Prix – defeated Josh Rock, Gian van Veen and Michael Smith to leapfrog Chris Dobey and Joe Cullen on the Order of Merit.
It was also a landmark weekend for Van Veen, who broke into the world’s top 32 for the first time following his run to the quarter-finals in Leverkusen.
The young Dutchman kicked off his campaign with victory against Andy Baetens, before defeating his compatriot Raymond van Barneveld in convincing fashion to cap off another successful weekend.
