Players from the World Disability Darts Association will experience the Winter Gardens stage during the 2024 Betfred World Matchplay.
The diversity of darts as a sport will be showcased once again in Blackpool as the World Disability Darts Association stage their World Matchplay finals on stage this week.
The WDDA World Matchplay finals have taken place at the Winter Gardens for the past two years, giving six players across their three categories an unforgettable experience.
The early rounds of the WDDA World Matchplay were held in Livingston, Scotland last month, and saw Rab Sutherland win through to the Compris final for a third successive year, where he will meet current Compris World Champion Paul Hannaway.
The Sutherland family are also represented in the other two finals, as teenager Robert Sutherland Jnr competes in the Classic final for a second successive year, while Lauren Sutherland is in action in the Ladies' decider.
Sutherland Jnr competed in Blackpool last summer aged just 14, having begun playing in Disability Darts Scotland four years ago – while he also plays in a Junior Darts Corporation Academy and has represented his country in the JDC.
Players can compete in the following categories in WDDA events:
Classic - players with upper and/or lower body impairment + Paralympic conditions + wheelchair users.
Compris - inclusive division for all with disabilities and those with Government-recognised mental & physical impairments.
Ladies - for women's players in the Classic & Compris divisions.
