THE Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts play-offs were cancelled at the Wembley Arena on Sunday night following a power cut in north London.
The £410,000 event was due to conclude on Sunday night with the semi-finals, third place play-off and final of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts in one session.
However, a power cut occurred two hours before the scheduled 7pm start, affecting not only the Wembley Arena but the local transport networks and several thousand homes in the north London borough.
Wembley Arena were informed that power would not be restored to the area in time to begin play on Sunday night.
The play-offs have now been rescheduled for 7pm on Monday May 24, with the order of play to remain the same as Phil Taylor, Simon Whitlock, James Wade and Mervyn King battle for the £125,000 first prize.
All tickets will be valid for Monday's rescheduled event.
Fans unable to attend will be entitled to a full refund and should contact their point of purchase from Monday morning onwards. Refunds must be applied for before June 4.
"This is the first time that this has happened during my career and it's a real shame," said Phil Taylor, the four-time Premier League champion.
"I feel sorry for the fans who travelled to Wembley but hopefully they will be able to come along on Monday and enjoy the night."

The Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts Play-Offs will be screened live on Sky Sports HD1 and Sky Sports 1 from 7pm on Monday May 24.
