ROB MODRA claimed Sunday's Coogee Bay Hotel Classic title in Australia with a narrow win over Brendan McCausland.
Modra claimed his first title of the year with the $1,000 victory, edging out McCausland in the decider.
Having won through his group, Modra whitewashed Darren Brudenell in the last 6-2 and defeated Bill Aitken 6-2 in the quarter-finals, before seeing off Jerry Weyman 6-3 in the semis.
McCausland was in fine form in the knockout phase, dropping only two legs against Daniel Brown and Mick McCreadie and winning 6-1 against Dave Muller.
Both Shane Tichowitsch and Mitchell Clegg, Saturday's finalists, failed to qualify from Board Eight, with Brian Roach and Mick McCreadie progressing.
