THE 2009 Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay will be held on Sunday August 23.
The tournament, held for the first time in 2008, sees the winner earn a place in the preliminary round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
This year's Irish Matchplay, renamed in honour of the former PDC professional Tom Kirby, who passed away last year, will be staged a the Green Isle Hotel in Newland's Cross, Dublin.
The event is open to all non-PDPA residents of Ireland or Northern Ireland who are non-PDPA members and aged over 16.

Entry costs €30 and entries close on Wednesday August 19 2009.
The format will be the best of nine legs up to, and including, the quarter-finals, with the semi-finals the best of 11 legs and the final the best of 13 legs.
Alongside a place in the preliminary round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay winner will also receive €1,000 towards travel and hotel expenses for the tournament.
Shane O'Connor (pictured) won last year's tournament, defeating Garrett Gray in the final, and went on to face David Fatum at Alexandra Palace.
