Wade Produces Premier Best

JAMES WADE'S 8-1 win over Terry Jenkins in Thursday's Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts was statistically the best display in this year's tournament.

Wade produced the highest average so far in this year's event with a 108.17 average in powering to victory at the Trent FM Arena.

His display included eight 180s, which is the most any player has hit so far this season, with Mervyn King, Wayne Mardle and Jelle Klaasen each previously hitting seven in a game.

Klaasen's tally came in his draw with King in Nottingham, with the four matches at the Trent FM Arena totalling 44 maximums.

Wade's display against Jenkins saw him record a 100-plus average for the fourth time this season.

He also had a 107.77 average in his 8-4 win over Raymond van Barneveld in February, when he reeled off seven successive legs to come from 4-1 down and take victory, and averaged 105.35 in defeating Phil Taylor in week four.

Taylor averaged 107.50 in the opening league night, also against van Barneveld, and averaged 106.36 against Mervyn King in a week five draw.

Taylor's tournament average has yet to dip below 102.43, and currently stands at 102.57 after 11 games.

Van Barneveld has had four averages over 100 this year, including a 106.51 in defeating Jenkins in week four and 105.82 in an 8-3 win over Mervyn King in week six.
