PHIL TAYLOR claimed yet another title with a 6-0 victory over Andy Hamilton in Sunday's Blue Square UK Open South-West Regional Final.
Taylor picked up a 12th tournament win of 2009 with the success, having sat out Saturday's Players Championship before returning to win a third successive Regional Final.
The result also means Taylor has now reached the final in 16 consecutive events, in a run stretching back to October last year - with Hamilton his latest victim in the decider.
Taylor seized an immediate advantage by winning the opening leg of the final against the darts with a 71 checkout.
He then hit 180s in winning back-to-back 11-dart legs, then moved 5-0 up with two legs of 13 darts.
Taylor wrapped up the win with a fourth 180 of the final, taking out 47 for a 12-darter to leave him with an average of 120.24.
Taylor failed to lose more than two legs in any of his games on the day, following up a whitewash of Gary Scratchley in his opening game with 6-2 defeats of Colin Osborne, Matt Clark, Steve Hine and Dutch pair Jelle Klaasen and Vincent van der Voort in reaching the final.
Hamilton's display saw him reach his first final since last August, producing some battling displays.
He won three games 6-4 and was pushed to a deciding 11th leg against Denis Ovens, Michael van Gerwen and Wayne Jones.
Michael Barnard, who lost to Hamilton in the last eight, was appearing in his first quarter-final since February 2006, while Jamie Caven enjoyed his best run since January.
Van der Voort followed up his appearance in the final of Saturday's Players Championship with a run to the semi-finals of Sunday's event.
