THE visit to the Brighton Centre last Thursday saw the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts reach its half-way stage - and we take a look at some of the key stats from the first seven weeks.
James Wade's fifth successive victory saw him jump above Mervyn King to top the table after seven games, a point ahead of Phil Taylor.
After four wins to open up his debut season, King has drawn and then lost his last three games, although he sits a point clear of Raymond van Barneveld and two ahead of John Part.
A victory for Terry Jenkins in Brighton leaves Jelle Klaasen, the other newcomer in 2009, as the only player without a win in the first half of the season.
Klaasen, though, has hit more ton-plus finishes than any other player, including checkouts of 170, 167 and 158 in his total of eight.
Phil Taylor and James Wade have also hit 170 finishes, with three in as many weeks bettering the total of just one maximum checkout seen in the past two Premier League seasons.
Taylor is the only player currently averaging over 100, with a 103.60 average from the opening seven weeks - and only once has he dropped below a 100 average, to 99.17 against Wayne Mardle in week six.
At this stage in 2008, only Taylor (99.06) was above 95 in his tournament average, with van Barneveld (99.70), King (98.81), Wade (96.73) and Jenkins (96.57) all over that mark so far this season.
Jenkins, despite sitting sixth in the table, has scored more points than any other player and his total of 238 ton-plus scores is 26 more than his nearest challenger, Taylor (212).
Taylor has landed 33 180s so far this season, more than Jenkins (28), van Barneveld (27) and King (24) - and is 13 more than his tally of 20 after seven weeks last year.
Jenkins has also been strongest against the throw, breaking throw 21 times out of 45 legs won, while Wade has secured 20 legs against the darts.
