THE draw for the 2008 German Darts Championship, to be held at the Gerry Weber Centre in Halle on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 November.
The €100,200 event will be played for the second time, having been won by Phil Taylor 12 months ago.
Taylor will be among almost 140 players to compete at the Gerry Weber Centre this weekend, joined by world number two Raymond van Barneveld, James Wade and current World Champion John Part.
Wade and Part will begin their challenges for the €25,000 first prize against one of eight qualifiers to come from an event held on Friday night.
The tournament is the final event before the cut-off for the top 32 from the PDC Order of Merit for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, and the top four non-qualified players from the Continental Europe Order of Merit.
Update: Roland Scholten and Dave Honey have withdrawn from the German Darts Championship, as a result their first round opponents will receive byes.
