JOHN PART'S World Series of Poker hopes were ended on day two of the competition in Las Vegas.
Part had won through the opening stage of the tournament at the Rio Hotel following his participation in the PartyPoker.net Las Vegas Desert Classic.
Part, who had entered the World Series of Poker through sponsors Ladbrokes Poker, gave his account of the day two play, reporting: "I managed to get through day one with 16,000 chips, which was under average.
"After 90 minutes of play on day two, I was down to 12,000 due to the lack of hands.
"My table then got split and I picked up Ace Jack off-suit at the new table. I raised to 1300 and the Small Blind (SB) called.
"The flop came down K, 10, 4, I bet 2000 after the SB checked. The turn came down an Ace. Again the SB checked and I fired 5000, the SB then raised and I had to make the call with only 2000 left.
"The SB flipped AQ. I had to hit one of three Queens to give me the straight, but not a Jack as it would give the SB a straight.
"Unfortunately a Jack did come on the river giving the SB the straight, and the dream was over for another year a least!"
