THE qualification criteria for the 2009 Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts has been amended.
The tournament will once again feature eight of the world's best players competing around the UK over three months next year.
In a change from previous years, the top six players in the PDC Order of Merit following the 2009 Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship will qualify by right for the tournament.
These six players will be joined by two Wildcard selections to be named during January following the World Championship.
Previous Premier League events have seen the top six players following October's SkyBet World Grand Prix win a place in the event.
However, the decision to amend the qualification dates was made after the introduction of the European Championship later in the year as well as the expansion of the PDC Pro Tour, along with the record prize fund of £735,000 on offer at the 2009 Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship.
