WAYNE MARDLE'S victory in the PartyPoker.net German Darts Trophy has moved him back into the world's top ten.
The Essex star picked up £5,000 for his victory in Kirchheim, moving him above Colin Lloyd, Dennis Priestley and John Part back to ninth in the PDC Order of Merit.
In the battle for the final two places in the PartyBets.com Grand Slam of Darts, Ronnie Baxter and Kevin Painter are now strong favourites to qualify for next month's Wolverhampton event.
The top two non-qualified players in the PDC Order of Merit on Monday 12 November will win the last two places in the Grand Slam - with just three Players Championship events now remaining.
Baxter's run to the final of the Blue Square UK Open Scottish Regional Final helped him to move onto £63,210, while Kevin Painter's excellent display in Germany - where he reached the semi-finals - sees him sat on £58,340.
Mark Dudbridge is sat on £55,337, while Alan Tabern's feat in also reaching the semi-finals in Germany sees him move onto 54,815.
Colin Osborne, Denis Ovens and Andy Smith are the only other players who could now break into the event, although they would need to win at least one of the remaining events.
Vincent van der Voort has continued his climb up the rankings to 29th, while Kevin McDine has continued his progression towards the world's top 50.
